How to enable VT (Virtualization Technology)

Official docs state that enabling VT reduces lag and is required for a normal install. Exact BIOS keys differ by motherboard brand.

   Restart into BIOS or UEFI

   Reboot and press the vendor key (often Del, F2, or Esc) shown on the splash screen.

   Find the virtualization switch

   Look for Intel VT-x, AMD-V, SVM Mode, or Virtualization Technology under CPU Configuration or Security.

   Set it to Enabled, save, and reboot

   Save changes (usually F10), boot Windows, then open MuMuPlayer again. Task Manager → Performance → CPU should report virtualization as Enabled.

Windows 11

Windows 11: Hyper-V still reported after you turned it off

After some Windows 11 updates, Credential Guard / virtualization-based security can re-enable Hyper-V behavior even when Hyper-V components look disabled. That can make MuMuPlayer slow or crash.

   Open Local Group Policy Editor

   Press Win+R, type gpedit.msc, press Enter. (Pro editions; Home users follow the Core Isolation path below.)

   Open Device Guard policy

   Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → System → Device Guard.

   Disable virtualization-based security

   Set Turn on Virtualization Based Security to Disabled, apply, then restart.

   Also turn off Core Isolation memory integrity

   Windows Security → Device security → Core isolation details → Memory integrity Off, then reboot. Official notes say this change does not remove ordinary antivirus protection.

   If Hyper-V still launches

   In an administrator Command Prompt: bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off, then restart. On Home editions you may also need to remove Hyper-V optional features via PowerShell.

Security

Antivirus flags or blocks the installer

Install error codes in official help often map to protection software terminating the setup or locking driver files such as MuMuVMMDrv. That pattern is common for emulators and is usually a false positive when the SHA256 matches.

   Confirm the hash

   Compare your EXE to the digest on the download integrity section before you lower any shields.

   Pause real-time protection briefly

   Close or pause Windows Defender / third-party AV, then run the installer again. Re-enable protection afterward.

   Add an exclusion

   Whitelist the MuMuPlayer install folder and the installer EXE so updates are not deleted mid-write.

   Clear a stuck driver service if needed

   Official remediation for some codes: run admin CMD, then sc.exe stop MuMuVMMDrv followed by sc.exe delete MuMuVMMDrv, reboot, and reinstall.

Files

Customize the shared folder path

1. 1

   Open the menu on the MuMu Android Device.

2. 2

   Choose More Tool → Shared Folder → Change the Shared Folder path.

   Select the Windows folder you want, then restart the emulator so the path applies.

Install

Install APK, APKS, or XAPK files

1. 1

   Use App Center inside the device, the in-emulator browser, or the APK install tool on the toolbar.

   On V5.22.2, double-clicking an APK on the desktop can prompt you to pick which Android device receives it.

   If install fails after an antivirus quarantine, restore the package from quarantine or re-download it, then retry with an exclusion set.
